Welcome

It's a new year and along with a new year of course comes our new daylily introductions from OnRussell.

Bernice Watt                                    Belle's Flower                      Unconditional Hugs

Bernice Watt is named for my maternal grandmother who provided my childhood with my warm and loving memories.  While its been many years since her passing her memories are fond and many.

The second in this years selections is Belle's flower this beauty is actually alive thanks to a customer who convinced me to save it. What else could I do but let her name it.

Rounding out this years introductions is unconditional hugs the second in my hugs and kisses series.  Unconditional Hugs is just what it says giving all its beauty and love and asking nothing in return.

Of course we have our benefit plants from last year where the majority of the proceeds go to benefit the Humane society of Kawartha Lakes.

Man's Best Friend                  Sweet Puppy Kisses            Damian Carlton Jewell

As you can probably tell by the names they are all about dogs,  one of my other true passions in life.  After the loss of my best friend Damian a couple years back I knew that my first introductions would celebrate the life and times we had together.  Lucy my other friend that I lost only a couple months later is not ready yet but rest assure she is on her way and big and bold and as spectacular as Lucy always was.  A portion of the sales of these three beauties will go to support the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes where I am an volunteer agent in some of my off time.

Once again we will be hosting our three main events.  The MDB Iris showing scheduled for May 23rd , the June showing of the TB Iris and the Dykes Medal Collection on June 11th and the 12th and the Daylily showing July 23rd & 24th.  Of course many new Iris and Daylily cultivar were added and of course our own daylilies that are being hybridized here at OnRussell, don't miss hosta hideaway either if your here for a visit with many new miniature plants and hard to find items.

We have also added throughout the garden some new and unusual perennial plants that we are currently trialing for sale in the next few years.  What can we say ... we just keep on growing  Hopefully you will enjoy the interesting plants that we have to offer so sit back and have a browse around or better yet stop by and visit the garden first hand.
