July 2011
Daylily season is starting once again this year thankfully a little bit more in line with the typical season, this month we are again having our daylily open house in support of the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes. Our three new introductions will be the feature plants that will be available but in limited quantities. See press release >>Press Release<<
June 2010
WOW Iris season is over and the daylilies are already scapped up and ready to go. Bloom season will most likely begin weeks earlier than expected. Our second year seedlings are already showing scapes and the third year seedlings are all scapped up and ready to show what they have and who will be making the cut!!
May 2010
What an odd month, the minature dwarf iris are blooming away probably about two to three weeks ahead of schedule. We are expecting the TBs to be in full go by the 23rd of May which is typically our MDB iris show and sale. Additionally we have been invited to be on the 2010 Lindsay Historical Society Garden tour in July of this year.
April 2010
The gardens are coming on strong this year, hopefully with a bit of heat we will have a great summer of non stop bloom. We will be at the Spring Garden show in Port Perry this year on April 17th and 18th with some of our daylilies and other garden goodies. Stop by the booth and say hello.
June 2009
This year the iris bloom was not as strong as hoped and I am belaming it on the weird end of winter when we were hit with a foot of snow when the plants had started to grow already but it still was an amazing show none the less. The daylilies also seem to be a bit behind but I am sure with some warm weather things will start to go. We are busy working in the garden and adding new beds and putting on the spit and polish for a garden tour coming out of Toronto being hosted by renouned Hort Expert Frank Kershaw and Mary Morton Tours.
January 2009
For those of you that are wondering we are busy working on our 2009 catalog that promises to be exciting as we are adding new and different plants not just for your garden but also for you home. As always these are grown here not brought in from somewhere else for resale. This guarentees that the exacting quality that we demand is maintained along with your satisfaction. Look for your catalog in the mail soon and check back for the full website update.
Spring 2008
Well it looks like the garden has made it through a winter to remember, thick blankets of snow have kept the Iris and Daylilies well covered and they are looking great. I am hopeful that this year will be an amazing showing of both the MDB and Dykes Medal Collection. Make sure you stop by for one of the two showings May 25th or June 14th and in July for the Daylilies. This is also the first year for our all new Catalog. Those of you that have ordered in the past should have received one already for your shopping pleasure.
Fall 2007
Well the garden is now put to rest and things are already in the works for next year. We have expanded the garden adding over and additonal 7000 square feet of garden space. In addition to the expansion we have also be designated the first Canadian "Historical Iris Preservation Society" display garden. Hopefully everyone will come out and enjoy the blooms in Spring 2008.
